So I'm sitting here with a long list of teachers we may want to bring to Tribal Rev '09. I'm sure this list is about to get longer once I ask the question, but here goes....

Who would you like to have teaching at Tribal Rev '09?
What kinds of classes would you like to see (even if you can't come up with a teacher you'd like to take it with)?

aida al adawi would be amazing.

she was jamila salimpour's right hand lady and is a wealth of information! not only is she extremely knowledgeable of middle eastern dance, but she has also studied the music extensively and is an amazing mizmar player :)

and... she lives on the east side of michigan, so she's not so far away!

I got one: when I was in Vegas doing a week long intensive with Rachel Brice, Rachel brought another dancer/instructor with her to act as her "body double" and generally support the group. The instructor's name is Deb Rubin, and she is AWESOME. She was a key member of Ultra Gypsy for like five years or something, plus she's a registered yoga instructor (RYT), plus she does holistic bodywork and massage therapy and all kinds of other amazing stuff, plus she is one seriously bad azz slinky dancer. Deb turned out to be a real bonus to my whole experience at The Tribal Massive and I would really like to be able to study with her again.

I know she's doing workshops on her own nowadays, and she might really be someone to consider, especially if Jill Parker is unavailable. She's from the Chicago area so that's an added bonus.

If this were the mob, I would totally vouch for Deb.

I'd like to have Heather Stants back, if possible.

Lori of Evil Eye Belly Dance - she's is Black Sheep Belly Dance alumni. She's been doing some dynamic stuffs with left sided tribal moves as well. She could kick some serious tribal left side bootay!

Zoe Jakes would be great. So would Mardi Love for that matter....

I don't have any musicians to recommend - sorry.

Princess Farhana - could do burlesque for bellydancers :-) Hehehehe!

If this were the mob ;-) - I would vouch for Lori, Zoe and Princess Farhana!

Left side stuffs would be great!!!!! Paulette will work our left sides too. She typically does. OUCH!!!!!!!! I wanna dance more to the left anyway. We tribal girlz need to even out! lol

Oooooo! Burlesque for belly dancers . . . that could be a FUN little workshop. I'd totally sign up for that. That would be a hoot! We can all get our girliness on for a couple hours. Ok, I'd laugh at myself for a couple of hours, but I'd still sign up for it! hee hee

Sabine of Tribalation for sword dance - she's got a whole list of cool classes :)

Bastet for double fan fusion. She is awesome!

Just took a workshop with Ariellah - and she pretty much rocked too...

Awalim has a very cool style too. They're the ones who do Tribal Con every year in Atlanta - good old Southern Fried Tribal ;)
